Follow the curve of the shoreline to the Beach restaurant and Kiosk for your morning coffee or a long, lazy lunch with ocean views, or wander further into town to explore Byron Bay’s boutique shops, cafes and laid-back dining scene. Whether you’re here for beach days, coastal walks or simply slowing down, the location couldn’t be better.

Inside, James Cook 3 offers a welcoming, practical layout designed for families and groups seeking a fuss-free, low-key holiday. The living and kitchen spaces are positioned upstairs to make the most of the outlook and sea breezes, creating a bright, open area for relaxing together after a day in the sun. Open the bifold doors to let in the ocean air while you enjoy your morning coffee or unwind in the evening as the sky softens over the coastline.

The bedrooms are located on the lower level, providing a quiet, restful space to recharge. The apartment is clean, comfortable and well cared for, with a relaxed, lived-in coastal feel. While the property would benefit from a refresh over time, it remains a well-maintained and functional holiday home — perfect for families or guests who value location, comfort and great value over brand-new finishes.

While the kids enjoy the complex’s shared saltwater swimming pool, adults can kick back with a book on a sun lounger or simply enjoy the easy rhythm of Byron life. After a day of beach adventures, return to your air-conditioned retreat and settle into the simple pleasures of holiday living.

Pool:
The James Cook complex features a shared saltwater swimming pool exclusively for guests. With only 12 apartments in the complex, the pool area has a relaxed, resort-style feel — great for families to unwind.

Parking:
One secure undercover parking space is provided onsite.

Location:
Step outside and you’re moments from the Cape Byron Lighthouse walking trail and the family-friendly waters of Clarkes Beach. Popular local favourites including The Pass Café, Combi Byron Bay and the Cape Byron Lighthouse Café are all within easy walking distance. Byron Bay’s vibrant town centre is just a 15-minute stroll away, with its mix of boutiques, dining and coastal charm.

James Cook 3 is best suited to families and guests seeking a relaxed, low-key coastal holiday. Schoolies, bucks or hens groups are not permitted. Strict no party policy applies, and bookings may be cancelled if these conditions are breached. Thank you for your understanding.

We can’t wait to welcome you to your East Coast Escapes stay and want to ensure every guest enjoys a relaxing and memorable experience. To help us maintain the comfort, care, and peaceful atmosphere of our homes, we kindly ask all guests to review the following conditions before confirming a booking.

All adult guests must generally be over the age of 25. We warmly welcome multigenerational family groups with younger adults or children included, provided the booking is centred around a family holiday and supervised by mature adults throughout the stay. Any guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the entire duration of the booking.

If you are booking on behalf of another person or group, this must be disclosed to East Coast Escapes at the time of booking. The person making the reservation must ensure all guests are aware of and agree to the booking terms and property conditions prior to arrival.

Our homes are reserved exclusively for registered guests. To respect both the property and surrounding neighbours, visitors are not permitted at the property unless prior written approval has been provided by East Coast Escapes.

A security deposit may be required prior to arrival.

We have a strict no party and excessive noise policy across all properties. Additional charges, security call out fees, and immediate termination of your stay may apply in response to complaints or breaches monitored through The Quiet Hotline security service.

Bucks parties, hens parties, Schoolies, and school leaver groups are not permitted.

While we love hosting groups and families, East Coast Escapes reserves the right to decline or cancel bookings that do not meet the suitability requirements of a property. If you are unsure whether your group is the right fit, we warmly encourage you to contact us prior to booking so we can assist.

Any breach of the above conditions during your stay may result in loss of bond, cancellation of the booking, and forfeiture of payments made.
